Civics is the major new theme featured in the new MA Social Studies Framework across all the grade levels. What does it mean for elementary students, and how can we find entrypoints to build civic skills and dispositions in the curriculum? We'll share a sample lesson that models civic knowledge-building across several subjects, and discuss the sorts of classroom practices that cultivate civic skills.
